PACTO – a better dry toilet

For many years, PACTO has satisfied needs in difficult circumstances, such as in disaster areas or on expeditions. PACTO is also ideal in the cottage, whether in the country, in the archipelago or in the mountains.

PACTO is incredibly simple and easy to assemble, use, transport and store. Thanks to its construction, made of 90% metal, it will last year after year.

PACTO consists of the following parts.

1. Toilet with flushing foil

PACTO acts like a normal toilet – but without water. The flushing is done instead with the help of a thin foil that covers the toilet bowl. At each flush, new flushing foil is fed into the toilet bowl. This leaves the toilet clean and fresh for every visitor. And since the toilet bowl is separated from the waste repository with a sealing mechanical hatch, you are never met by unpleasant sights.

Two kinds of flushing foil are available: a compostable organic foil made of corn starch and one that is made of polyethylene. When the polyethylene flushing foil is incinerated, only carbon dioxide and water are formed.

2. Foot pedal

The flushing foil is fed down by stepping on the foot pedal. At each flush, the flushing foil encapsulates the waste and feeds it down into a waste repository under the toilet.

3. Waste repository

The toilet can be placed on a PACTO Podium that collects the waste, packaged in the flushing foil. You empty the waste repository yourself at regular intervals – and since the waste is encapsulated, emptying the repository is simple and hygienic.
